Not the usual nonchalant throwing about of ingredients, but a more mature Jamie. Respectful of his resources, a true love and enjoyment of Italian cooking, and ditto for the nonnas. A must have!

Really good recipes but only three stars because of Jamie Oliver's stupid obsession with the bloody 'nonnas'. Nobody goes around Italy randomly calling absolutely every 50+ woman a 'nonna'. His superfluous two-page profiles of granny Titta or granny Linda spoil this book for me. Why only grannies? Older woman who are not nonnas aren't worth including? Ma vai a ca...... I can vouch that his recipes are good and authentic as my Italian other half cooks them. However, he does not enjoy the nonna gimmick. Cut it out Jamie and just call this Jamie's Italy Part Two and go back to giving the Italian names for the recipes as well as the dumbed-down English ones. Basta con sta stronzata delle nonne.

Authentic Italian passion for food. Great recipes that anyone can follow with ingredients that won't have you trekking mountains or taking out a loan to acquire. Excellent health and nutrition information is a welcome addition to cook books. Am trying the Amalfi Lemon Tart tonight, wish me luck!

Some lovely new recipes in here but I didn't think it was as good as his previous book on Italy. He does make it easy for you though, nice clear instructions, great T.V as well with Gennero.
